Cumbria Industrial History Society Spring Conference 2025

This year’s conference will be on Saturday 22nd March at The North Lakes Hotel, Penrith. The subject is Water Works and there will be the following talks:

Construction of the Lancaster Canal from Tewitfield to Kendal by Bill Froggatt

Water is Power…….170 Years of Fluid Engineering at Gilkes by Chris Crewdson

The Thirlmere Scheme by John Butcher

A History of Wastewater Treatment to the Present Day by Andrew Kendall and James Halliday

We will be taking a selection of our books to the conference. Much of our stock is listed here and if there is anything you would like to look at please contact me before and I will bring it with me.
